Prativad – an Inter School Contest,one of the greatest events was organized by GNA University on October 18, 2016. The grand event not only focused on bringing forth the young talent but also nurturing the developing competitive spirit among the students. The 11thPrativad bagged wonderful responsefrom around 1000 students of 100 schools from all over Punjab whoparticipated in different competitions like Quiz, Voice of Doaba, Young Chef Competition, Photography, Face Painting, Poster Making, Collage Making etc.
The event started with lamp lighting by the Guest of Honor, Brigadier Samyal and Col. Jose Abraham accompanied by S. Gursaran Singh Sihra, Chancellor, Dr Prem Kumar, Vice Chancellor, S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, Pro Chancellor, Mr. Sunil Sarad, Registrar, GNA University and other dignitaries.
Dr Prem Kumar, Vice Chancellor welcomed the guest of honor and congratulated the young students who came to grab the opportunity to meet and compete with their peers. He also ensured that GNA University focuses to encourage the young talent so that they can enrich their profile and become employable along with increasing their competency and confidence.
Major General Sanjiv Bajaj, GOC, 19 Headquarter graced the event as a Chief Guest of the gala event who was very much impressed by the diverse talent of the participants. He also complimented GNA University for taking such initiatives. He stressed that champions are made by strong vision, determination, persistence, skill and will. Also, he urged the youth to focus on physical fitness and get involved in sports.
Brigadier Samyal addressed the audience and said that he is happy to see that the university is organizing such events to polish the talent. He also wished the students best of luck on behalf of the Army.
Col. Jose Abraham encouraged the budding talent of our nation to push the boundaries, explore the world, take challenges in life as it is not going to be easy and they have to struggle. He also focused not to live a life without passion and apprised the students about bright career opportunities in Army.
The event was also witnessed by all the respected teachers who had accompanied the students from their respective schools. There wasa tough fight amongst the participating students who came all across from different districts of Punjab. The participants were very thankful to S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, Pro Chancellor, GNA University for providing an opportunity to win exciting prizes.
Overall first position and a cash prize of 11,000 rupees was bagged by Army Public School, Jalandhar, second position and a cash prize of 5100 rupeeswas taken by St. Josephs Convent School, Jalandhar and third position with 3100 rupees was secured by Sahibzada Ajit Singh Public School.
The first prize winner for Quiz was HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, Jalandhar, SRT DAV School secured first position in Voice of Doaba, in Photography, Army Public School bagged the first prize, Jalandhar Model School bagged the first prize in Collage Making, Ivy World School took first position in Young Chef Competition, St. Josephs Convent School, Jalandhar secured first prize in Poster Making and in Face Painting.
